“I've been a customer with JK for 18 yrs. I've always had good service, sometimes expensive but always professional, on time and quality work. This time we had a leak in our kitchen sink that needed to be repaired. Sam S came out and I showed him the leak. It was a simple hose coming from the water line into the faucet. He kept trying to tell me (several times) I needed a new faucet for $900 as our water had damaged it and it was a brass faucet which the "acidic" water damaged. I felt he was giving me a very hard sell to have him purchase and install a new faucet. I found the manufacturer of our faucet with the service dept phone number which I gave him and he stated that he called them. Then Sam S claims that he left to go to Hajoca to look for a replacement hose. I had found a replacement hose online but he took one look at it and stated it was not the right type. He came back from Hajoca without any hose as they did not carry it. He was supposed to order a new hose and call us back. Two full days go by, I did not receive a phone call back as promised.. I called and explained I needed to know what was going on. Sam called me later that day to explain that the faucet company was sold and no replacement hose is available and I will need to purchase a new faucet. I went back online and in less then five minutes ordered a new hose for $60 (the same one I showed him) and received it two days later. I replace the hose myself and the faucet works perfectly. Our faucet has a brass FINISH (not brass as Sam critiqued) and our water is treated with a softener and we had it tested/pH was 7 so NOT acidic (as Sam was adament about – he stated to my wife that another customer wanted a brass faucet and he had to tell her her water was acidic and she best choose another type faucet).. I hope Sam is not an example of JK other plumbers as I felt he was acting like a used car salesmen selling me something I did not need. I paid $139 for the service call.”
