As of January 1, 2025, HVAC manufacturers are required to produce equipment that uses a class of refrigerants known as A2Ls. The specific refrigerant most companies will use is R-454B, also known as Puron Advance. This change is part of a broader effort to enhance environmental sustainability, combat global warming, and improve system efficiency. It will replace the current refrigerant, Puron, in all residential ductless, ducted, and light commercial products. At JK, we understand that any transition can bring about concerns and questions. Our goal is to provide you with clear information on why this switch is happening and to reassure you that purchasing a system and receiving service will proceed as normal.
